Mason Prep School’s 8th Grade Graduation Celebrates Its First Kindergarten Students

On June 2, Mason Prep School graduated its first students who started at MPS as kindergarteners. Mason Prep began its kindergarten program nine years ago, recognizing the importance of learning - academically, socially, and emotionally - in a supportive and nurturing environment as students begin their formal education.

Said Head of School Jennifer Baker. "Mason Prep's Kindergarten, which focuses on 'joyful learning,' gives students the confidence to explore, reinforces a positive attitude about school, and encourages growth so that each student can receive the best start to their education. The Knights in the Class of 2023 are kind, confident, and ready for high school." Added Ms. Rett Fitts, one of Mason Prep's current Kindergarten teachers who helped start the program, "I am so proud of these graduates, many of whom began their Mason Prep careers as my 'Froggies.' Our Kindergarten's atmosphere of love, security, and acceptance gives our students an amazing start, and that is reflected in this impressive class."

Mason Preparatory School is an independent school for grades K-8 located in downtown Charleston, SC. Mason Prep is committed to the education of the whole child in preparation for secondary education, to the development of the child into a productive citizen, and to the cultivation of respect, integrity, and personal responsibility.
