$1.1 Million Dollar Investment at Miller-Motte Technical College Integrates Technology Across Learning Environment
Charleston, SC (October 23, 2018) - Miller-Motte Technical College’s Charleston campus is excited to announce campus-wide renovations that will incorporate enhanced technology into their learning environment, providing students with an enriched learning atmosphere.
“We are very excited about the investment we are making in the Charleston campus and the impact it will have on our students,” says Sara Eichelman, Executive Director for Miller-Motte Technical College. “The upgrades will provide additional resources to help students be successful throughout their educational experience and in the workplace.”
The project includes $1.1 million dollars of renovations and upgrades throughout the campus. The technology-enabled classrooms will incorporate student chromebook usage as well as an upgrade to the medical clinical assisting and surgical technology labs allowing students to work on industry-standard equipment mirroring the equipment they will be using throughout their career.
“It is very important for students to be able to use the tools of their trade during their training,” says Zachary Stein, Director of Education. “The ability to go into the workforce with this knowledge not only ensures they will be as successful as possible, but also reduces the amount of on-the-job training that may need to take place after they are hired.”
“It’s very exciting to be able to bring this level of technology to the campus for the faculty and staff, but most importantly, for our students,” says Eichelman. “We are already seeing the excitement in our students as the work is underway.”
Renovations began in earnest in August, 2018 and are scheduled to be completed by January, 2019.
