Millers All Day Concocts New CBD Cocktail; Charleston Hemp Co. Collaboration Features All-Local Product

CHARLESTON, SC -- Move over bitters, and step aside activated charcoal: CBD is the hottest new ingredient in many national cocktail programs. And it’s now made its way to the bar at Millers All Day.

Crafted by bar manager Davey Jones, Millers’ new Green Dragon combines Pisco, Midori, Lemon, Cucumber, Egg White and CBD (cannabidiol) oil from the local grower and manufacturer Charleston Hemp Company. It’s the first of potentially many concoctions that will feature the all-natural ingredient.

Millers All Day partnered with Charleston Hemp Company because both companies embrace local; Charleston Hemp grows and processes its own organic hemp in the Lowcountry.

The restaurant will feature the new cocktail along with its full program at a special pop-up happy hour Wednesday, November 7 from 5 to 8 p.m. Representatives from Charleston Hemp will be on hand to talk about their product line.

The effect of CBD in cocktails has been described as increased feelings of relaxation and calm. CBD is derived from the cannabis family, but lacks the THC that produces psychoactive effects of its cousin, marijuana. CBD is legal for sale and consumption in all 50 states.

Restaurant representatives note that it is not a coincidence that they’re rolling out a calm-inducing cocktail the day after a tough election cycle ends.
