CHARLESTON, S.C. -- Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) Atlantic selected Greg Hays as Senior Scientific Technology Manager (SSTM) for Rapid Prototyping and Exercise Lead.

In this position, which Hays filled starting Feb. 3, provides strategic and technical oversight for rapid prototyping, ensuring prototypes and solutions are aligned with larger exercise guidance and direction. In addition, Hays is responsible for guiding participation in exercises and fleet engagement opportunities and demonstrating novel capabilities to the Fleet and Marine Corps. Hays will also work closely with his counterparts across the Naval enterprise in leading rapid acquisition initiatives, ensuring a technical advantage for the Navy and Marine Corps.

Hays brings a wealth of knowledge and experience with over 25 years combined federal government and industry experience. His experiences include starting his own consulting company engaged with the maturation and transition of technologies into the military and commercial markets. Additionally, he has held numerous leadership positions at the then-named SSC Atlantic prior to moving to industry, including Deputy Technical Director. Hays has deep experience engaging with Naval customers and working with emerging technologies, developing prototypes and working with customers to transition the prototypes to programs.

Greg received his Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Evansville and a Master of Science in Engineering from Rose Hulman Institute of Technology in 2002. Greg is a member of several professional societies and is a 2006 graduate of the Federal Executive Institute.
