Palmetto Goodwill Earns Platinum Guidestar Seal

North Charleston, SC – On Wednesday, November 17, Palmetto Goodwill announced it earned the 2021 Platinum Seal of Transparency from GuideStar, the world’s largest source of nonprofit information.

Earning the seal allows nonprofits to share their mission with the more than 200 philanthropic websites and applications that are powered by GuideStar data.

Brian Itzkowitz, President and CEO of Palmetto Goodwill described the achievement as a truly impactful accomplishment, giving credit to the entire Palmetto Goodwill team.

“When the media, funders, and general public want to learn about charities, they go to GuideStar” he said. "The possible ratings are: No rating, bronze, silver, gold, [and] platinum. Three weeks ago, we were in the no rating category. Today, thanks to this overachieving team, we are platinum – the highest rating!”

More than 8 million people visit GuideStar’s site each year.
