Patriots Point Foundation is proud to announce the addition of two new members to its all-volunteer board. Kenneth M. Pickens (l) is a 1982 Citadel graduate with BS and MBA and is a Wilson Ring awardee. With 36 years of commercial banking experience he is currently Executive VP of South Atlantic Bank.
Chaplain Maj Gen Charles C Baldwin USAF ret. (r) is a 1969 Air Force Academy graduate and pilot with 2 combat tours in Vietnam, two Distinguished Flying Crosses and four Air Medals, retiring as Chief of Chaplains USAF.
Now in their 43rd year, 501c3 Patriots Point Foundation raises money to support the Naval and Maritime Museum, home to Carrier Yorktown, Destroyer Laffey, Submarine Clamagore, the Vietnam Experience and Medal of Honor Museum. Most recent support includes donations to USS Laffey Assoc for structural steel for After Boiler Room access and donation of a six seat electric shuttle to Patriots Point Development Authority to assist visitors in getting to the ships. Currently they are matching all donations up to $5,000 for STEM related Flight Academy program for youngsters, which includes overnight stay on the Yorktown and museum admission.
