PILCH NAMED ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF SALES
CHARLESTON, S.C. – Explore Charleston promoted Bobby Pilch to Assistant Director of Sales. In his expanded role, Pilch will focus on government and citywide group sales for the Convention and Visitors Bureau.

He is an exceptional relationship builder and has earned a strong reputation for effectively promoting the region as a preferred destination for association meetings and other group travel,” said Helen Hill, CEO of Explore Charleston.
Pilch most recently served Explore Charleston as Sales Manager. Prior to that, he was a general manager for three Marriott properties and was a consultant with HVS, a hospitality industry valuation company.
During his more than seven years with Explore Charleston, Pilch has worked with business partners to advance group sales efforts, focusing extensively on the North Charleston market and the Charleston Area Convention Center.
In his new role, Pilch will continue to serve as a liaison with Joint Base Charleston.
Pilch is a Certified Government Meeting Professional. He is also a member of the Society of Government Meeting Professionals (SGMP), National Defense Transportation Association (NDTA), Charleston Defense Contractors Association, and Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association.
Pilch is also a Master Sergeant in the United States Air Force Reserve, where he serves as the Superintendent for Public Affairs for the 315th Airlift Wing.
