Charleston, S.C., July 18, 2018 – Relish Restaurant Group, comprised of Ms. Rose’s, 492 and Tristan Catering + Events, believes that good service extends beyond the walls of its restaurants. The hospitality group works daily to serve the Charleston community through the philanthropic support of charitable organizations in addition to the daily task of filling the bellies of hungry diners. Not only has the group become a staple in the Charleston culinary scene, serving as a sponsor or participant in a wide variety of local and regional food festivals since its inception in 2013, but it has also been a major voice in the community at large.
“We have always encouraged our team to find ways to give back and support causes that inspire them,” said Dave Bucks, Director of Operations for Relish Restaurant Group. “Whether participating in local fundraising events and food festivals, donating to charity auctions or simply sponsoring local kids’ sports teams, we look forward to continuing to support the Charleston community however we can.”
See below for a sampling of how all three Relish Restaurant Group businesses are giving back.
Ms. Rose’s
Ms. Rose’s Fine Food & Cocktails recently partnered with Dorchester Paws for a special edition of the restaurant’s wildly popular Mimosas & Mutts brunch series. The event raised funds for the animal shelter through mimosa sales, t-shirt sales and homemade dog treat sales and resulted in the adoption of four out of six dogs.
In addition to Dorchester Paws, Ms. Rose’s has donated to a wide range of local organizations, including the West Ashley High School Marching Band and the Blessing Box Project, which provides non-perishable food items throughout the Lowcountry to fight food insecurity.
Tristan Catering + Events
Another important cause championed by the entire Relish Restaurant Group is cancer research. All three entities offer support through involvement in the Jerry Zucker Ride for Hope, a cycling event benefiting MUSC’s Hollings Cancer Center. In addition to supporting the fundraising event through social media promotion, Tristan Catering + Events will cater this year’s Ride for Hope on November 11, 2018. Ms. Rose’s will also host the event’s Kick Off Party on November 10.
The team at Tristan Catering + Events, as well Ms. Rose’s, have been involved with the Lowcountry Orphan Relief (LOR), which provides goods and services to children who have been abused or neglected. Both team’s have volunteered their time at the non-profit contributing to the nearly 28,000 children in the Tri-County area who have received clothing donations from LOR.
492
492 has also worked to raise money for the Hollings Cancer Center through their participation in the Gourmet & Grapes culinary event. The event couples local and regional culinary talent with award-winning wineries to raise funds and awareness for cancer research and patient programs at Hollings. 492’s Executive Chef Josh Keeler and his kitchen team participated in the 2018 festival, contributing to the over $2 million that the event has raised since its inception in 2009.
Keeler has also participated in numerous local and regional culinary events, including Chef’s Feast benefiting Lowcountry Food Bank, Atlanta High Museum of Art Wine Dinner and No Kid Hungry.
