Charleston, Monday, October 5, 2018—March of Dimes is pleased to announce that the Ronnquist family will serve as Ambassadors for the 2018 Signature Chefs Auction in Charleston, SC. The event—which highlights the culinary excellence of the area’s finest chefs, will be held on Thursday, November 15 at 6:30pm at Memminger Auditorium. Anthony DiBernardo is the Lead Chef, and the event is presented by Atlas Technologies, Inc. Event leadership includes Dr. Alison Dillon of Charleston Maternal Fetal Medicine and George J.F. Bullwinkel, III of Nexsen Pruet as Co-Chairs and Reid MacEachern as Auction Chair and Claudine Ottinger as Logistics Chair.
“We are honored to be part of this event which will help March of Dimes lead the fight for the health of all moms and babies,” Alana and Nick Ronnquist said. “Our family has been touched firsthand by the mission of March of Dimes. Our son, Nash, was born at 24 weeks, and spent 55 days in Neonatal Intensive Care before we lost him to complications of prematurity. The generous contributions of the restaurants, event sponsors and attendees help support research and programs, and we are hopeful for a future of new treatments for babies like Nash.” The Ronnquist family will share Nash’s story, and introduce their rainbow baby, Maia, at the Signature Chefs Auction on November 15th.
The evening will begin with generous samplings of each chef’s signature dish. During this lively reception, guests have the opportunity to bid on super silent auction packages and participate in our platinum ticket raffle. The highlight of the evening is the live auction, when the participating restaurants and chefs donate unique dining, travel and entertainment packages that are auctioned to the highest bidder. To date, participating restaurants include: Anthony DiBernardo of Swig & Swine, Matthew Niessner of Halls Chophouse, Marc Collins of Circa 1886, Chris Ryan of Charleston Grill, Michael Perez of Cannon Green, Vinson Petrillo of Zero Restaurant + Bar, Michael Sichel and Remy FunFrock of Hotel Bennett, Nick Torno of The Atlantic Room at The Ocean Course, Daniel Doyle of Poogan’s Porch, John Zucker of Purlieu, Cru Café, and Cru Catering, and Jacob Huder of Macintosh.
There is still availability to participate in the event. Interested sponsors or those interested in purchasing individual tickets should contact Audrey Flores at AFlores@marchofdimes.org or (843) 934-4269.
