Rosebank Farms Moving Produce Stand to Kiawah River

Johns Island, S.C. – Kiawah River, a waterfront community and the region’s only agrihood, announced that Rosebank Farms, a Johns Island staple and purveyor of fresh produce, seafood and honey owned by Charleston natives Sidi Limehouse and Louise Bennett, will move its farmstand to Kiawah River this summer. The partnership brings the farmstand to the land on which Limehouse grew up and Kiawah River is now located, where it will provide the greater community with continued local food options and expand Kiawah River’s commitment to sustainability. Rosebank Farms’ future home will be located at the community’s entrance at 3883 Betsy Kerrison Parkway.

“Kiawah River has a rich history of conservation and environmental stewardship, and it is our duty and responsibility to carry this torch forward,” says Chase Williston, Director of Development at Kiawah River. “Sidi Limehouse is like family to Kiawah River and The Beach Company, so when he asked if he could bring his stand ‘home’ to Kiawah River, we were honored to oblige.”

Formerly known as Mullet Hall, Kiawah River embodies sea island traditions and history and has maintained 100 acres of working farmland. Kiawah River Farm prioritizes supporting the local agricultural community, including neighboring family farmers, The Goatery at Kiawah River, Three Gates Cattle, a pasture-raised cattle company, Storey Farms’ free-range chicken coop and actively maintained beehives. Limehouse has farmed 30 acres at Kiawah River over the past 5 years, growing tomatoes, sweet potatoes, watermelons and flowers, among many other crops for Rosebank Farms.

“John Denver said it best: It’s good to be back home again, sometimes this old farm feels like a long-lost friend…it’s good to be back home again,” said Sidi Limehouse, quoting the 1974 song “Back Home Again.”

Operating for over 30 years, Rosebank Farms’ 75-acre farm is known throughout the region by residents and chefs as a unique farm offering consistency and quality, producing more than 50 crops. Limehouse, along with partner Louise Bennett, will continue to operate the farmstand in its current location at 4362 Betsy Kerrison Parkway on Johns Island until moving to Kiawah River this summer with a permanent structure coming soon.
