The St. Jude Walk/Run to End Childhood Cancer will take place at Carnes Crossroads for the third year September 22.
WHAT:
Thousands will participate in the St. Jude Walk/Run to End Childhood Cancer in Charleston, SC to benefit patients and their families at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital® in recognition of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. St. Jude supporters will band together for this event in 65 cities across the U.S. Their help will assist the mission of St. Jude to find cures and save children battling cancer and other life- threatening diseases.
The greater Charleston community is invited to participate in the event, which will feature a patient family speaker, scenic 5K, family friendly activities and live entertainment. Registration for the run is $10 for adults and children ages six and up and $10 for the walk for adults and children ages six and up. This is a fun run and the race will not be timed.
Register, volunteer, make a donation or learn more about this event at stjude.org/walkrun.
WHY:
Thanks to generous donors and events like the St. Jude Walk/Run to End Childhood Cancer, families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food – because all a family should worry about is helping their child live. Treatments invented at St. Jude have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20 percent to more than 80 percent since it opened more than 50 years ago. St. Jude won’t stop until no child dies from cancer, but can’t do it alone. With the support of participants, donors and more, we can end childhood cancer together.
