The iconic Stars Rooftop & Grill Room, located at 495 King Street, announced its new dinner, happy hour and brunch menus. The new menus are a culinary collaboration between Stars’ Executive Chef Ivan Aguila and Sous Chefs Hikeem Reaves and Elizabeth Riley. Staying true to the spirit of the iconic grill room and its classic dishes, the seasonal menus introduce new flavorful creations with a focus on fresh, locally sourced ingredients.

“We’re highlighting both Charleston produce and the turn-of-the-century grill rooms,” said Ivan Aguila, Stars Rooftop & Grill Room’s Executive Chef. “Of course, we did keep a few original dishes that have made Stars into what it is today.”

New menu items include Lobster, butter-poached, with sherry, tomato, basil, focaccia; and the Wood-Grilled Ribeye with crushed new potatoes. Diners looking for original Stars dishes will find some of the restaurant’s mainstays still on the menu, like Bacon Cheddar Tots and Oysters Bingo.

Patrons can enjoy the new summer bites menu and happy hour drink menu Monday through Thursday from 4pm to 6pm in the grill room or on the Stars rooftop, which offers an iconic 360-degree view of downtown Charleston. The summer bites menu is also available on the rooftop on Friday from noon to 5pm. The menu includes bites like Lobster Rolls ($12) and Stars’ Burger Sliders ($12). The happy hour drink menu offers an extensive selection of house liquors, frozen drinks and tap wines are also available during happy hour for $6.

“As Charleston continues to reopen, we want to offer the community a safe way to enjoy the evening with bites and drinks after work,” said Greene. “We’ve decided to require our happy hour rooftop guests to sit and order from the new menu in efforts to continue to practice social distancing.”

Brunch is also back at Stars on Saturday and Sunday in the grill room from 10am to 2pm. The refreshed menu features new items and some classic favorites, such as Pulled Pork Hash, Lobster Rolls and Stars’ Southern Benedict.

The restaurant will also continue to abide by all recommended health and safety protocols. Stars released its COVID-19 policies in May, which are currently implemented.
