Subway® Restaurants in Charleston Area to Help Local Meals on Wheels Program

What:   Subway® restaurants in the Charleston area are pleased to announce their upcoming partnership with Charleston Area Senior Citizens and their Meals on Wheels program.  The Meals on Wheels program aims to support local seniors who have trouble leaving the house by providing them with a nutritious meal, companionship and a watchful eye on the health and safety of local Charleston seniors.

Through this partnership, Subway restaurants will be donating 250 boxed meals to Charleston Area Senior Citizens Meals on Wheels program and the seniors they serve, allowing the program to reallocate funds for another day.

Nearly 9 million seniors in the U.S. face the threat of hunger, according to Meals on Wheels America, and these programs are the difference between seniors remaining in their own homes and needing to relocate to a nursing facility. In addition, the nutritious meal, friendly visit and safety check that Meals on Wheels provides helps seniors cope with threats of aging: hunger, isolation and loss of independence.
