Local dietitians and Subway® restaurants across the Columbia market have been helping area families learn about nutritious food choices during several "Share the Color" workshops, hosted at local libraries across the region.
Subway’s Share the Color workshops are designed to teach children how to make good food choices and the importance of making colorful fruits and vegetables part of their daily meals and snacks, as well as provide an educational experience for family members in the community about colorful and healthy eating. By encouraging children in an interactive environment, Subway hoped to make the event both fun and informative for the entire family.
Over the past few weeks, the workshops covered basic nutrition information and included a hands-on sub making activity and free lunch. Children also received a take-home food exploration coloring book.
