Summerville Medical Center Opens Orthopedic Practice On Campus

SUMMERVILLE MEDICAL CENTER OPENS ORTHOPEDIC PRACTICE ON CAMPUS
Welcomes Shasta Henderson, MD Gregory Kalv, MD, and Haley Merrill, MD

Charleston, SC (March 29, 2021) – Summerville Medical Center is pleased to announce the opening of Trident Orthopedic Specialists on the hospital’s campus and welcome orthopedic surgeons Shasta Henderson, MD, Gregory Kalv, MD and Haley Merrill, MD.

“I’m thrilled that Drs. Henderson, Kalv and Merrill will be joining our team of board-certified, fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeons,” said Jeff Taylor, CEO of Summerville Medical Center. “By having their office located on our campus, our Summerville community is able to receive the care they need in their own backyard.”

Trident Orthopedic Specialists is located on Summerville Medical Center’s campus in suite 200 of the Medical Office Building. This is the second practice location for Trident Orthopedic Specialists, who also have an office on Trident Medical Center’s campus.

The practice provides orthopedic services for children and adults. Dr. Henderson and Dr. Merrill offer comprehensive adult orthopedic care including treatment of foot and ankle injuries, fracture care, sprains and strains, total joint replacement, and sports medicine. “I am honored to work alongside Dr. Kalv, Dr. Merrill and our entire orthopedic team,” commented Dr. Henderson. “Our goal every day is to change the lives of patients so that they can get back to playing with their kids and grandkids, back to their favorite hobbies, and back to their active life.”

Pediatric orthopedic surgeon Dr. Kalv offers comprehensive orthopedic services for children from newborn to age 17. His services include fractures, sports injuries, scoliosis, spinal deformity, orthopedic trauma, cerebral palsy, hip dysplasia, limb deformity, club foot and more.
