Give back to the Charleston community on Giving Tuesday, November 28, by supporting tri-county-based nonprofit We Are Family. We Are Family’s mission is to support LGBTQI+ youth in the area through direct assistance, leadership development programming, and community engagement. The organization offers many social support groups for youth, parents, and even kids to provide gender-affirming spaces to meet others in the community.
We Are Family will be hosting its Giving Tuesday Phone-a-thon and Block Party on November 28 from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. to kick off its fundraising campaign to build the first LGBTQI+ community center in the Lowcountry! This community center will become We Are Family’s new hub for hosting community events and its social support groups that uplift and connect youth in the Charleston area.
Enjoy a day of music, food, games and exclusive Closet Case Thrift Store specials at the Equality Hub while the We Are Family team, local Drag Queens and members of the community participate in the Phone-a-thon to raise money for We Are Family’s exciting new home. The Block Party is free for all to attend! If you are unable to attend but would like to support We Are Family’s mission, you can donate online.
