The Coastal Cupboard Hosts Charity Knife Sharpening Event Benefiting The Charleston Basket Brigade November 8-10, 2019

The Charleston Basket Brigade (CBB), a nonprofit committed to bringing the community together to provide Thanksgiving meals to local families in need, is teaming up again this year with The Coastal Cupboard for their Semi-annual Charity Knife Sharpening Event from November 8-11, 2019.

WHEN: Friday, November 8 – Sunday, November 10, 2019
TIME: Friday & Saturday: 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. | Sunday: 12 p.m. – 4 p.m.
WHERE: The Coastal Cupboard, Belle Hall Shopping Center | 644-J Long Point Road
EVENT DETAILS: It’s that time of year again! Get your knives professionally sharpened for just $1 per knife, where every single dollar benefits The Charleston Basket Brigade.

Dull knives are dangerous; they make cutting and chopping difficult and timely, and everyone has at least one in a kitchen drawer. So, bring those knives to The Coastal Cupboard where the staff will sharpen away the wear and tear, all for a good cause! While staff will be working away to give every dull knife a new edge, guests can check out interactive knife skills demonstrations, delicious samples, cutlery specials, and more. Only straight-edge knives can be sharpened, not serrated knives. There is NO LIMIT to how many knives you can have sharpened.

The Charleston Basket Brigade is a local charity on a mission to raise $105,000 to feed approximately 3,500 Charleston Tri-County families in need for Thanksgiving. It only takes $30 to feed a family of six and 100 percent of donations raised are utilized to purchase food. Each box is filled with all of the food items necessary to cook an entire Thanksgiving meal – a 10-12 lb. turkey, cranberry sauce, stuffing, mashed potatoes, corn, green beans, sweet potatoes with marshmallows, fresh rolls and a pumpkin pie. Also, inside the box is an anonymous letter that reads: “This comes to you from someone who cares about you. All we ask is that you take care of yourself well enough to be able to do this for someone else one day.”
