The Harbour Club Gets Ready to Set Sail into Their New Location with a Seasoned, International Chef at the Helm

The Harbour Club is thrilled to announce an accomplished, new addition to their culinary team, Executive Chef Wes Long. In anticipation of their up-coming move to the water-front WestEdge building, the Harbour Club is bringing on board a top-rated Chef with a combination of International and southern flair.

Chef Wes Long was born and raised in Hickory, North Carolina and attended Johnson and Wales University in both Charleston and Denver where he focused on the relationship between farmers, sustainability, and the art of cooking.

Wes started his culinary career as a chef in fine dining restaurants in Savannah and Beaufort earning accolades along the way. He then took his passion for food to the next level when he moved to New York City. There, he joined the culinary team at the Michelin Starred Wallse in the heart of the West Village. Following that, he worked in the world-famous Le Cirque NY as well as Applewood in Park Slope as Executive Sous Chef. Finally, Wes was recruited to open Hudson Clearwater as Executive Chef where he really made a name for himself in NYC, garnering top culinary awards.

After four years with Hudson Clearwater, Wes decided to work abroad and quickly found an opportunity in Hong Kong. He opened several restaurants with a French restaurant group Le Comptoir, opened his own restaurant, Paradis, and spent two years as Executive Sous Chef at The American Club in Central, Hong Kong. After five years, Wes left Hong Kong and moved Paris, France with his wife and children. In Paris, he worked on a new project for the wildly popular Uma Nota HK in their newest venture in Paris as a consulting chef. Longing for his southern roots, Wes decided to return to Charleston, along with his family, and couldn’t be happier about being Executive Chef at the Harbour Club. “I’m thrilled to be back in the States and heading up the culinary team at the Harbour Club,” says Chef Long. “I bring with me years of experience in preparing international cuisine along with a deep love of southern cooking. The marriage of these two promises to deliver something very special to the Club’s members”

The Harbour Club is Charleston’s exclusive yet inclusive social and business club. The new location at 22 WestEdge will feature gorgeous water views, an outdoor terrace, along with
5-star dining for breakfast, lunch and dinner. For more information visit www.myharbourclub.com.
