Thomas & Hutton Welcomes Summer Interns

Charleston, SC, July 19, 2018 — Thomas & Hutton (T&H) is pleased to introduce our seven summer interns joining us in our Charleston office for the 2018 summer semester.

Macy Butler is a Civil Department Intern and a sophomore at the University of Georgia pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering. Macy will be assisting the Civil team with all aspects of civil/site design to include site planning, utility layouts, grading, drainage calculations and cost estimating. She will also be spending time assisting our construction field representatives and seeing their designs become reality.

Emma Highfield is a Water Resources Department Intern and a senior at Georgia Tech pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering. Emma’s previous experience includes an Internship with CF Industries in their Environmental, Health, and Safety Department as well as interning this past semester at Arcadis as a Bridge Design Intern.

Demi Marshall is a GIS Department Intern recent graduate of Furman University with a degree in Sustainability Science. Alongside the GIS team, Demi will assist in aggregating regional data layers such as neighborhood boundaries, zoning, and utilities for T&H’s web-based GIS platform, geothinQ. Demi’s previous experience includes two internships through Furman University with the Community Conservation Corps and Furman Farm.

Dylan Lilly is a Civil Department Intern and a senior at The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering. Dylan will be assisting the Civil team with all aspects of civil/site design to include site planning, utility layouts, grading, drainage calculations and cost estimating. He will also be spending time assisting our construction field representatives and seeing their designs become reality. Dylan’s previous experience includes interning with the Survey Department at T&H last summer.

Rob Cubbage is a Land Planning Department Intern and a junior at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University pursuing a degree In Landscape Architecture. Rob will be assisting with preliminary design, detailed planting plans, and graphic project visualizations. Rob’s previous includes working as a Property Management Intern at the Ockanickon Scout Reservation.

Jonathan Smith Matt Key is an Environmental Department Intern and a junior at Clemson University pursuing a degree in Environmental Engineering. Matt will be primarily assisting the Environmental Group with project related design activities. He is also playing a key role in field data collection for the Charleston County Parking Assessment Project.

Elliotte Kris Collins (not pictured) is a Survey Department Intern and a freshman at The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering. Kris will be working with a survey crew performing field survey tasks including boundary, topographic, and route surveys. During his time at T&H, Kris will become familiar with survey instruments and data collection including automated line work.
