Culinary Event Supports the Fight for the Health of all Moms and Babies

WHAT: The Signature Chefs Auction pays tribute to the culinary excellence of Charleston-area chefs who will present their signature dishes during a lively reception and silent auction. The heart of the evening includes a competitive live auction where guests bid on culinary, travel, and entertainment packages. Terry Haas will serve as the evening’s Emcee and Scott Matthews is the Auctioneer.

WHY: Premature birth and its complications are the largest contributors to infant death in the U.S. and pregnancy-related death has more than doubled over the past 25 years. On November 1st, March of Dimes released the 2018 Premature Birth Report Cards for the U.S. and each state. South Carolina received a “D” grade this year with an 11.2% rate of premature birth. Funds raised by Signature Chefs Auction help support March of Dimes as they lead the fight for the health of all moms and babies. The Ronnquist family of Charleston was touched by the mission of March of Dimes when their son Nash was born prematurely at 24 weeks and after fighting for 55 days in the NICU, passed peacefully on November 24th, 2015.
